01 / Five questions before you choose

1. What should the finished work look like? Write down a deliverable, such as a cited brief, editable code or three captioned clips. A broad category alone is not enough.
2. What will you provide? Check supported files, account connections and required context on the product page.
3. Which steps does it actually do? Distinguish a draft from an action. Generating an email is different from sending it; suggesting code is different from deploying it.
4. What needs your review? Plan to inspect claims, calculations, permissions or publishing decisions. Use the limitations and human-work sections in our listings.
5. Can you keep the result? Check export formats, code access and whether you can continue using the output outside the vendor's app.

02 / Read beyond “free”

A free plan is ongoing access with limits; a trial is temporary access or a limited allowance. Neither label guarantees enough capacity for your project. Check credits per action, export restrictions, connected-app costs and what happens when a limit is reached.

For tools that require your own model account, separate the application cost from model usage. Our pricing labels link back to official sources; confirm the current offer before paying.

03 / Make the first test small and checkable

1. Pick one bounded task and a small sample you are comfortable sharing.
2. Write down the expected output and a way to check it before starting.
3. Keep the original input, prompt and generated result.
4. Check the result against the source material. Record corrections and failed steps.
5. Decide whether the total effort, including review and setup, was worthwhile.

A successful sample does not prove every task will work. Repeat with a different example before making the agent part of an important workflow.
